D.D.S. Blues

2NU with a jaunty little dental ditty!
This is off of their “Ponderous” recording from 1991.
And what a recording it is, superb audio, great
musicianship and sublime lyrics.
All in all a great effort from Michael Nealy and
Jock Blaney, as is all of their material.
I love to play this stuff on the show!
Open wide….

Dentist Appointment

This is a great scene from a very underrated movie.
Little Shop of Horrors, the remake, came out in 1986.
It starred Rick Moranis, Steve Martin, and Bill Murray,
and all three can be seen in this slice.
I’m not big on musicals but this movie is special.
The scene with Levi Stubbs singing Mean Green Mother
towards the end alone is worth the price of admission.
There’s nothing quite like this, a sadist meets a masochist
and hilarity ensues.
Kinda…

Tooth Gremlin

Dan Cummins with a humorous piece about
personal hygiene and flossing between meals!
Dan is dark, not a comedian where you’d leave
his shows feeling good about yourself.
That’s a not a bad thing at all, some comics
mine their humor from the bleaker side
of life, and THAT’S the area that NEEDS to be
laughed at!
He’s a very funny guy, he just doesn’t look
towards the light…

Me Like Hockey

The Arrogant Worms with a nod to those that skate.
Having lots of Canadian blood in me I can attest
to the fact that they do indeed embrace that sport
with a zeal that can best be described as pathological.
Times ten.
I stopped watching the game when they made face
masks and helmets mandatory.
I’ll do the math for you, it was a couple of years ago.
Wusses, couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag today.
If you need to wear a mask or a helmet to work and you’re
not a Viking you are a dainty little man and deserve
nothing but scorn.
They like hockey…

No News

or What Killed the Dog?
A timeless piece of humor from Frank Crumit!
This version is from 1928 and it is still quite funny.
You can certainly determine the era in which it
was written, some seriously ancient references here.
It just kept getting worse…
