Catch It and You Keep It

From a rather rare and unusual album from 1972,
National Lampoon’s Radio Dinner!
Co-written by Tony Hendra and Michael O’Donoghue
the record is also known for it’s parody of a 1920’s
prose poem composed by Max Ehrmann called Desiderata.
This sketch parodies a 60’s television game show called
Let’s Make a Deal, a popular long running program that
featured prizes for dressing up as odd objects.
If you listen closely you can hear dialogue related to
the original shows intent.
It all ends rather badly for those that expected huge
monetary or expensive gift winnings.
That’s the funny thing about comedy, somebody always
gets hurt, and it is indeed humorous as long as it isn’t you…
