Spoutin’ Nonsense…Bike Light Review

I usually post about comedy and all its trappings but I feel
the need to give a product review here something fierce.
I am a prolific bicycle enthusiast who cannot get enough
of pedaling my backside off whenever the weather permits.
I’m not a professional, or even moderately athletic, but I
exercise every day and workout every other day because my
body craves it and it’s a huge benefit to my overall mental health.
Fitness is something we should all embrace and promote.
Easy for me to say, I was a manager for a fitness club and have
worked out in many a gym until I finally broke down and
bought my own equipment which I use religiously.
But, as I stated, I’m no athlete I simply use exercise to keep
my aging body from falling apart and dropping out before I
can afford it to, a noble yet difficult endeavor.
For the last several years I’ve been riding my bike after work
to relieve stress and receive the usual endorphin rush from
pushing myself physically, and every year I’ve grown really
frustrated around this time because of the decreasing amount
of daylight available to me by the time I get home from work.
This year I decided to do something about it, I bought a bike light.
I’m a typical anal retentive so I did the usual several months of
research to determine which bike light to get.
I settled on a BR-800 kit from Bright Road, front and rear lights
are the BR-800 and the BR-10, 800 and 10 lumens respectively.
Could not be happier!
I almost didn’t buy it because some of the reviews stated that 800
lumens would not be enough to see the way if I was going to be
riding at night.
The reviews were incorrect.
The front light has four settings…low slow-strobe, low, medium, high.
The high is 800 lumens, medium probably half that and low is around
the 200 lumen mark.
I have no need to use anything but the low setting.
This thing is seriously bright, on high it looks like a car headlight.
I just took a 6 mile jaunt in a pitch black cloudy/rainy setting with
no street lights at all and it lit the way like a champ, on low!
One of the things that I like about it is the ease with which you
can remove the unit from the front bracket, if you need to use it
like a flashlight, which I have on many an occasion, just hit a
lever and pull it off.
It throws light like no flashlight I’ve ever had, it lights up my whole yard
on high, the entire driveway on medium and any room in the house
on the low setting.
Recharge it with a Micro-USB and you’re off and running.
It installs very securely, no slipping even on bumpy dirt trails,
and adjustments on the fly are simple and easily accomplished.
Waterproof and built with heavy duty aluminum I highly
recommend this kit.
Here’s the punch line…it’s only $38 bucks with free shipping on Amazon!
You simply cannot go wrong with this combo.
Don’t be this guy…
