I have always said that some of the best novelty songs
have come from serious artists.
They produce some of the funniest material because
they can pick and choose from ideas accrued over a
long career of being a serious source of entertainment.
Even if the artist only creates one or two pieces it is
usually the best of what they have to offer.
This is one such example.
Colcannon is a very serious entity, a Celtic band from the
Boulder Colorado area, their name comes from the
traditional Irish dish of mashed potatoes and vegetables.
This is the only humorous piece that I know of that they’ve
produced over the years, and it’s a keeper.
You’ll be humming it for days…
