One of my favorite sketches by the immortal Bob Newhart.
Like most of Bob’s pieces It’s almost stand-up like in its
execution, and for the sake of keeping the theme going I’m
going to treat it as such.
This guy is a comedy god, he’s got chart topping audio
recordings under his belt, many years of television series
success, a multitude of superb guest appearances on other
programs, and his long time embrace of performing live.
Master of the One-sided Telephone Conversation, his shtick
is non confrontational, cerebral, and only occasionally
snarky…one would not think it would work but it does.
He is still with us at the at the tender age of 91!
This is a great example of what he can do…
