The late Ruth Wallis was born this month back in 1920
and was one of the first novelty singers to use the
double entendre to great comedic effect.
Her material was very tame and yet her recordings
were banned everywhere, Puritans still ruled the
airwaves with an iron fist, but she still managed to
gain quite a following.
