Neil Innes passed away on 12.29.19.
That makes me very sad.
He was one of the original members of The
Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, founder of The Rutles,
and considered by some to be the 7th Python, a
tribute to his work with Monty Python on
various projects, including some of their movies
and tours like the Live at the Hollywood Bowl gig.
He was a talented comedian and songwriter, not to
mention a real gentleman and a scholar.
This is one of the songs that I associate with him.
I’ll play more of his material this week as a tribute.
He used to utter this line doing his performances…
“I’ve suffered for my music. Now it’s your turn.”
Rest in Peace Mr. Innes, you will be missed.
